I have had the pleasure of teaching third grade in Pompton Lakes for the last nine years and am looking forward to another wonderful school year in my debut role as a fifth grade teacher! I started working at Lincoln School in September 2007, after completing my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education at Kean University in Union, NJ. In May 2013, I received a Master's degree in Special Education from Kean University. In addition to these degrees and certificates, I have taken several college courses to enhance my teaching in the areas of technology, math, and language arts.
Over the past several years, I have had an incredible learning experience! All of the loving and professional parents, teachers, staff, and administration have really helped me to develop my personality and teaching style. They, along with my parents, family, and friends have been so supportive in allowing me to follow my dreams. I believe that it is an educator's job to foster a rich and engaging learning environment on a daily basis. I try to stay up-to-date on things that students love and incorporate them into my lessons. There is nothing more powerful than promoting trust, happiness, self-confidence, and self-worth into children's minds at a young age. I believe that once students establish positive feelings about themselves, they will persevere and achieve their goals and dreams.
I always start the year off on a positive note, and can't wait to experience another exciting year!
