• Welcome Parents and Students,

I am excited about the upcoming year and the students in my class. We are so busy working and getting to know each other. Here are just a few simple things to keep in mind as the school year begins.

Homework  - I give homework Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  I do NOT give homework on the weekends because I believe that is family time. The homework should not take more than an hour and will more likely be about 40 minutes.  The idea of homework is to reinforce what we learned and let students process information.  We go over the homework in class everyday so there is no need to worry if your child is struggling.  I do not expect homework to be perfect.  If you have homework concerns, please email me.

Attendance - If your child must be absent from school, please know as there may be work to make up.  Sometimes children who live nearby are willing to drop off work if you make arrangements with them. Some things need to be completed in class, so I may ask your child to come in early or stay after if needed.

Grades  -  Please check the parent portal for grades.  If your child is struggling with a topic, I may ask them to stay after school or come in early to get back on track.

Google Classroom  -Ask your child to share our Google Classroom page so you can see the things we are working on in class.

Finally, if you have any concerns at all, do not hesitate to contact me(that goes for parents and students)!   Email is usually best, as I check it several times a day. Let's work together to make this year the best it can be.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Deanne Martini
