• To all of my students,
I have high expectations about our working together towards a successful academic year.
Science is, besides anything else, a mental attitude about discovering the secrets of the material world: how and why things are and work the way they do.
Why does a giant iceberg or ship float? How can a strong acid if mixed with a base produce salt and water? How liquid water is produced by the reaction of highly flammable hydrogen with oxygen, which by itself, enables combustion.
The curiosity and will to explore the possible answers to these simple questions are in themselves a scientific endeavor.
I hope that all my classes are a catalyst to my students' appreciation of science and a motivation for them to do the hard work required to learn science.
    Sincerely,
    Mr. Pinto
